Legislative elections were held in the Hellenic Republic on 9 April 2000. At stake were 300 seats in the Greek parliament, the Voule.
The ruling Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) of Prime Minister Costas Simitis was narrowly re-elected, defeating the conservative New Democracy party.

Greek electoral law requires that the party winning a majority of votes be awarded a majority of seats in the Vouli. This involves some distortion of the proportionality of the result. Parties must poll 3% of the national vote to gain representation.
