I think I will just leave it. As you say, it is a little bit on the borderline. Thanks for your input though. Cheers, and happy editing! -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] re WP:LAME and stegosaurus
I placed it under wheel war because it devolved in administrative reverts, which I personally would consider administrative actions. Circeus 22:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Not a "director", "coordinator", "leader", "manager",
I never saw those titles used here before. Am I missing something? Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 14:47, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. The whole concept troubles me. JayHenry claims that Military History and Featured Article have directors, but I feel this is contrary to the spirit of Wikipedia. He seems recognised as the director by his supporters, but how does one convey directorship? Does one become director for life? Are there term limits. What happens if a director no longer seems to be doing a good job? Do they hold elections? This starts to sound reminiscient of Karmafist. To add to this an adminship and it almost sounds like a coronation. "Got my second assist at WP:AIV." I just don't like the way that sounds. To me it sounds like glory seeking or ego inflation. Add to that the pushiness and I just could not feel comfortable supporting his adminship. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 22:50, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

- I can understand Featured Article Director, because Raul654 actually makes decisions we consider to be binding, and I'd like that particular process to be fairly stable, because it has a lot to do directly with the quality of the encyclopedia, and our public image. (Wonder how it'll work when he leaves.) Any other "director", "overseer", whatever... Eh, not so much. And I agree with everything else you said. Grandmasterka 05:32, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tired
No, that wasn't the point; it is my understanding that, to prevent the page from becoming overly long and boring, old issues are occasionally removed. Especially those for which nobody understands the context any more. >Radiant< 11:29, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] request help with JohnnyTampa
Hello, I was writing to request some admin help. JohnnyTampa keeps undoing the revisions I make to the articles "condoms" and "sex toys". The user continues to spam, and redirect links to his commercial sites. I undo those changes, but he keeps making the changes again. Just wondering what to do next. Thanks! [edit] REQUEST HELP RELATED TO ISSUE ABOVE "JohnnyTampa"
Grandmasterka... I am not sure if you read this. I have a BIG issue with the comments and action taken on my WIKI account based on the unethical conduct of User SUPERKEVBO. SUPERKEVBO is owner of a company called "CondomMan.com".. Every change that has been made on Wiki pages by me was educational and very relevant to the content. My condom commentary and sexuality advice as been published in many News papers, National magazines, television and I have also been a classroom speaker for many organizations / schools. My commentary on Contraception has been sought out by many news related organizations. I am an absolute expert on these issues. The company which links where added by me (JohnnyTampa), happened to be linked to the website CondomDepot.com (which I have an interest in). I find it very unfair (and very unethical) that my edits be removed because of Complaints from user SUPERKEVBO. SUPERKEVBO removed all of my links and added links to CondomMan.com. I believe in all fairness that if my links are deemed SPAM and Violations that his editing should also be removed from WIKI. ALL of his contributions are for links to CONDOMMAN.COM these links have ZERO educational value and are simply attempts to gain Google Page Rank. I do not wish to have my account reinstated. I simply feel his "Condom Man . Com " links should be removed as they are simply advertisements without any educational value.. I believe you need to remove his spam as this compromises the WIKI code of conduct. Please replay to this Post by email to: johnnytampa --AT-- gmail.com
PS - here is one such article I have commented on so you dont think I am full of BS http://jscms.jrn.columbia.edu/cns/2006-03-14/mulumba-microbicides/
Thank you

[edit] JohnnyTampa complaints
Hi Grandmaster, this is Superkevbo. I see that JohnnyTampa has been leaving several messages for you regarding my contributions to wikipedia.
To keep a long story short, what happened about a month ago was that JohnnyTampa was spamming various condom and sex toy articles with his links to condomdepot and spicygear.com. He was not adding anything educational to these sites. What he was doing was taking pre-existing links to various resources and renaming them to direct to his website. I am fine with a competitor contributing to the articles, but this was obvious spam and as such I removed it. Three or four editors agreed with me, including yourself, and eventually someone banned him from editing wikipedia.
At that time JohnnyTampa had nothing short of a tantrum and looked up my contact information on the internet, and began calling me with threatening messages and emailing me. In his email he threatened to sue me for removing his spam.
I guess he's back, because he's back now attempting to remove any content that I've added to wikipedia over the last year.
I feel that the content I added was sourced correctly and from pages on my site which contained factual information. For example the content about benzocaine lubrication on the condom page, I used my benzocaine condom page as a reference. I also referenced the product line listed on my webpage as a source for what the Durex product line currently contains. And on the Safe Sex page I wrote some very precise and useful content on how to safely use a condom which was originally posted on my website, so I used that as a source. If in your opinion, the content that I added to wikipedia was indeed spam I'm fine with you removing it. I'd only ask that if you remove the links, that you also remove the content that I added to the articles as well.
I have enjoyed being a part of wikipedia so far and I'll respect whatever decision you make, just please leave me a message after you make your decision so I know. Thanks!
PS. Please take a look at user "Macuser77" as I'm quite certain that this is JohnnyTampa again under a new user ID. I'm pretty sure that's not allowed under the rules, but you'll know better than I. Also, please note that this person is vandalizing my Talk: page, and removing comments editors left for me, which I believe is also against policy. Superkevbo 13:48, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Dear GrandmasterSka - It is never mentioned that SUPERKEVBO is OWNER of Condom --- MAN---.COM. Al of the inks he is adding are links to HIS comercial webisite. The links are designed to build Page Rank on Google. They are to a shopping website. This is SPAM. BOTTOM INE. Macuser77 —Preceding comment was added at 01:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
From what I know, links to for-profit sites are fine as long as they provide educational and meaningful content. What is not ok is when you replace existing links with spam links to sites that do not provide content, which is why JohnnyTampa was banned in the first place, and why he has now come back with a vendetta against me, using what I would certainly classify as uncivil behavior (WP:ICA). Quite obviously I'm not trying to build pagerank with nofollow links. The links I have added point to articles and product descriptions which back up factual data I added to wikipedia articles.
Sorry to get you so involved with this, but I would ask in addition to verifying that the links I have added are not spam, to also ban Macuser77 for creating a duplicate account after his first was banned (JohnnyTampa) and make sure he can not create new accounts in the future.Superkevbo 03:54, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The nonsense at Brett Favre continues
Hey there, I was hoping I could enlist your help. I know you remember User:Starwars1955 from eons ago, and you've certainly seen him and his army of socks. Well, the nonsense has escalated slightly.
User:Teri Kosman (an obvious sockpuppet, just look at these contributions) sent a full page protection request. Admin User:Jmlk17 fulfilled the request without looking into the claims made by the sockpuppet. He then fulfilled a revert request by said sock. When I notified him of his folly, he just washed his hands of it and left, claiming that he "can't take the time to figure out the details".
I know you're busy, but can you keep an eye on the Favre page, and block these socks as they arise? That would be great, thanks. –King Bee (τ • γ) 11:46, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there. New tactic used by our good friend. Sockpuppet: User:Gregory Aulepp has decided to tag User:Larkworb as a sockpuppet of himself. If you have time, please do block Gregory; it's appreciated. Skybunny 04:39, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
