Goth punk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Goth Punk is a subjective term, used by the media and some music critics, for describing the style of the rock band AFI during their middle era. The band actually started as punk outfit. However, after Jade Puget joined the line-up, AFI began to experiment with more gloomy sound and horror-themed lyrics. Their early punkish style was changed under the influence of bands such as Misfits and The Cure. Nevertheless, this is not a real music genre and the albums, AFI have made during this period - Black Sails in the Sunset and Art of Drowning are considered as horror punk.
