[edit] Hauntings
Some consider the bridge to be haunted. Many stories exist about Emily, who may have hung herself when her lover did not meet her at the bridge. Her parents greatly disapproved of the man she wanted to marry so she and her lover decided to elope. He told her to come to the bridge and wait for him which she did. Hours went by until it was midnight and her lover never came. Because of the reported hauntings, many refuse to cross it after dark, since the legend is that the ghost is harmful and may shake or scratch cars and people driving through.
