doesn't this contradict itself? Rare event, that oftenis a defnce mechanism? whatever, it shouldn't even be it's own page, and probably should be merged with amnesia.

It's not a contradiction: It's unlikely to happen, but when it does happen, it's probably a defense mechanism. WhatamIdoing (talk) 06:40, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
