GRHS is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the New Jersey Department of Education. It also has a very prestigious marching band which as of October 8, 2005 is tied for first atop the entire east coast

Reading some of the horrific generalizations about partying and drinking directed toward Glen Ridge's younger population posted earlier, we are reminded once again how averse to good news some people appear to be.

It should be noted that Glen Ridge high school and college students comprise at least 30% of the town's 50-60 member volunteer ambulance squad. As State certified EMT-Bs, each member of the Glen Ridge squad, whether 17 or 70, devotes at least one 12 hour tour every week of the year, and a full weekend every six weeks responding to medical emergencies even as the naysayers continue to ignore them.
