*Bunch of Stuff that Even I Don't Know Why I Watchlisted It, But I Must Have Edited It For A Reason:
"So what's the deal with all the kids' shows? Aren't you...a little OLD for that?"
Oh, heck yeah. But then again...not so much.
You'll notice: most of the shows listed are either PBS shows, educational shows, or Not-Your-Average-Mainstream-Kids'-TV-type stuff. I used to be a teacher, for one thing, and though I'm no longer in education (hey, YOU try teaching junior high and see how long YOU last!), I have a great interest in how those cute little teeny baby people become those complicated, puberty-stricken gawky medium-sized people, and from there become grown folks; what helps them develop, what makes them into strong, functional, feisty humans, instead of fear-ridden, or dogmatic, or inflexible, or self-doubting, or any of the other of the billion pitfalls that people encounter between birth and adulthood. (This probably stems from having, myself, encountered quite a large number of those selfsame pitfalls, along that path...but if you want navel-gazing self-analysis I'll have to refer you to my blog.)
Anyway. I edit and monitor these articles because I have an interest in the shows. Which, come to think about it, is why most people edit ANYTHING on Wikipedia: because they have an interest in it. An added benefit: these are largely articles which are in dire need of attention. They've often been edited by the kids who watch the shows they reference, which generally means they need copyediting (my specialty!) or de-vandal-ization--or both. And they mostly all need expansion, which gives me a chance to actually WRITE something, instead of tweaking everybody else's words...and writing is my first love, really.
