Giovanni Assenza, a lawyer in Ragusa, Italy , was born in Ragusa, Italy February 22, 1948. He attended high school in Ragusa classic Lyceum Umberto I and, therefore, has a degree in law at the University of Catania in 1976. From the same year he was official of the Ministry of Justice. From 1981 to 1989 he directed the bankruptcy and commercial section of the Court of Ragusa; since 1989 has directed the public prosecutor office of Ragusa, from 1992 to 1996 he served as manager of the Court of Modica, from 1996 to 1998 was manager of Court of Appeal in Catania, 1998 to July 2007 was director of Public Prosecutor office in Ragusa. During the year 2001 has achieved the ability to fill the role of IT manager in the Public Administration. Since 2007, is called to the Bar in the forum of Ragusa Studio legale Assenza.

The lawyer Giovanni Assenza has done teaching activities, as part of school training of the Ministry of Justice with regard to administrative law, science organisation, public accounting, privacy and information technology.

He is founder member of the Associazione Dirigenti Giustizia, where he served as chairman, vice chairman and member of the Governing Council. Since 2001, until August 2007, he was General Secretary of 'E.U.R. European Union of Rechtspfleger', which during the congress in Stockholm, August 30, 2007, was appointed as member of honour.

He is member of the Rotary Club of Ragusa and awarded by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.
