[edit] Improvement drive
If you contribute to this page, please leave your name and a description of your goals on this talk page or leave me a message here so that we can better coordinate our content. If anyone either has photos of Gilmour's campus or would like to take some, you are welcome to add them to the article. I am hoping to take some soon to add some flair to the article. Thanks, --Fuscob 01:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I am heading up an improvement drive for this article. If anybody has any material they'd like to contribute, it would be welcome - either add it to the page or leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Fuscob 22:43, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
It's been a while since I've visited this page. I'm sorry to see that it has lost quite a bit of its formerly NPOV text. I am a Gilmour alumni, and I'm slightly ashamed to see what has become of the content here (and hopeful that it was not someone on Gilmour's faculty or staff making these clearly biased changes). It now reads like a brochure or press release, and I intend to restore it to an encylopedic format following WP:NPOV guidelines. Regards, Fuscob (talk) 23:59, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup
I have just done a huge cleanup of the article, removing self-promotion, information that doesn't belong, and other stuff. This isn't a personal attack on any of your writting, I just want to make the encyclopedia consistant following set guidelines and NPOV rules. Thanks. --mboverload@ 02:06, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
What is the criteria for being a notable Gilmour graduate? I ask this because there is a person listed as a 'Snow Plow specialist' which doesn't sound particularly notable.SailorAlphaCentauri 08:11, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removed image
The photo of the building ws not fair use. As it was a generic "building" type of photo, it's purpose in the article was decorative, not informative. - brenneman {L} 06:13, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Copied from User_talk:Aaron_Brenneman#Gilmour_Academy.
You removed the image of the Classroom Building from the page Gilmour Academy - I am wondering why. It was not a "generic building photo," but rather a photo of the school's main classroom building and one of its most-traveled outdoor areas. Thanks, Fuscob 00:29, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- End copied section.
- The relevent text here is "The material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose." (Emphasis original.) This building photo is generic not in a pejorative sense, but merely in that there is not a representation of a unique aspect supported by text in the article. - brenneman {L} 04:11, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

- It is illustrative of the "Campus" section of the article. The classroom building pictured is specifically referenced in that section. Fuscob 19:17, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Arts
Hi, I am a GA alumna and I thought we should have an arts section (if we have an athletic section - which we do).Yeoldemathshoppe 14:17, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Gilmour Crest.gif
Image:Gilmour Crest.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:38, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
