[edit] William O. Douglas Wilderness
William O. Douglas Wilderness is a part of Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest but is administered by Wenatchee National Forest. See the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest map dated 1999. It should be listed as part of the latter with a notation that to the effect that it is administered by Wenatchee National Forest. Some of the National Forest boundaries make little sense but congressional action is required to change them. Consequently, portions of one National Forest are often administered by another. For most purposes, they can be considered a part of the administering National Forest. Consequently, I think for the purposes of Wikipedia, administered forests should be treated as part of the administering National Forest. However, we need to be clear when we do this, e.g., when discussing acreages. Walter Siegmund (talk) 19:23, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- I started William O. Douglas Wilderness. The official web site says that it is jointly administered by Wenatchee National Forest and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. I'll try to add words to that effect here. Walter Siegmund (talk) 20:41, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
