[edit] Scarlet BLONDE

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an advertising medium or a provider of free web space. Subjects of articles need to meet certain notability guidelines to merit an article. The specific guidelines for musicians and bands can be found here. Further, all material should be verifiable from reliable sources that are independent of the subject. We delete dozens of articles about self-proclaimed "up and coming" bands every day--it's not that we don't wish them well, it's that we have to draw a line somewhere, and the aforementioned guidelines are the community's consensus on where that line should be. "Up and coming" isn't good enough, but if a band actually arrives, then an article here will be absolutely welcome. Let me know if you have more questions. Take care. --Finngall talk 15:57, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Insiders' Guides, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
