Article Contributions
What I mainly do for articles is remove vandalism and cleanup a bit.
Occasionally in my daily course of checking the file links for Image:Example.jpg, I come across a really bad article in need of attention written by a very new user - that is usually how the example.jpg gets on there: from the new user who wrote it. So then, after I have removed this example.jpg and others (such as bold text) I will go back and edit it again, completely rewriting it. Check my contribs for something like "rewrite to: some description about my rewrite".
Bots/Scripts
- I have written multiple wikimedia-related bots, two of which edit wikipedia.
Here is a list of wikimedia-related bots or scripts that I have written:
| Bot Name | Description | More info |
|---|---|---|
| Spotlight bot | has multiple parsing functions with an interface over irc, and edits wikipedia to update the Spotlight subpages and the article talk pages. | User:GeorgeMoneyBot |
| Clerk bot | Does not edit wiki, but parses checkuser cases and other things. | here |
| Spamdabot | A router/server bot for the m:Spamda client. Basically distributes and manages messages for the client. | m:Spamda |
| Watchbot | You give it a page, regex of pages, user, regex of users, summary, or regex of summary, and it will match that against every single edit made to wiki, and report it to irc if there is a match. You can even feed it your watchlist, so any page that is edited on your watchlist gets reported. | Contact me. |
| Backup helpme bot | This is for when the toolserver is down so the normal helpme bot is not up. It is not a copy of helpmebot, but completely written from scratch with the same functionality. | WP:NUH |
| Archive bot | Can archive any talk page thread older than x days. | Contact me. |
| Status bot | Status changer. | User:GeorgeMoneyBot-status |
| Other | I have also written many one-time bots run by other people. | |
| Framework | User:GeorgeMoney/Bot Framework | |
| Script Name | Description | More info |
| UserScripts | A list is at User:GeorgeMoney/UserScripts | |
| SpamSearch | Searches archives of spam-related pages for a certain link. Written with Eagle_101's assistance. | [1] |
| CrossWiki | Linksearches a link crosswiki. Written with Eagle_101's assistance. | [2] |
- I also have a PHP bot framework called GM Wikipedia Bot at User:GeorgeMoney/Bot Framework.
- I have written many scripts which can be found at User:GeorgeMoney/UserScripts
- If you would like me to write you a bot or script, leave me a message on my talk page.

I award you this Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar for going an extra mile to illuminate me about some of the finer points of Wikipedia in relation to query strings. The information you gave and the depth that it went to will be of great assistance to me in the future. Thanks again! Daniel.Bryant 08:18, 24 August 2006 (UTC) |
Great work! You have no idea of how much I'd wish to know exactly how that kind of syntax works. --The Judge 01:32, 3 September 2006 (UTC) |
The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar: I award you this barnstar for your tireless and effective vandal combat. Best regards. --Payple 15:40, 25 February 2007 (UTC) |
The Original Barnstar: A belated thank you for your scripting help with the cloak requests system - it has made my work as group contact significantly simpler. I now receive very few incorrect requests and I'm sure that your code accounts for a good portion of that. So, I present you with a shiny new barnstar :) —Xyrael / 21:34, 5 April 2007 (UTC) |

A daguerreotype of the United States Capitol in 1846, with the original green copper dome as designed by Charles Bulfinch. Over time, extensions to both the north and south wings, made to accommodate the addition of new states to the Union, made the dome aesthetically displeasing, and as a result, it was replaced by a white cast iron dome which was completed in 1866.
