It would be nice to add a bit on the recent party split here, although I didn't follow it closely enough to be qualified to write about it. Everyking 21:46, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Outdated...RussianPresidential Elections 2008

[edit] 2008 Russian presidential campaign

In October 2005, Zyuganov indicated that he would run for president in 2008, making him the second person to step into the race for the Kremlin following former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov. Putin has given no indication about a preferred successor, although he has repeatedly said he will not seek to change the Constitution of Russia to allow him to seek a third [successive] term. [1]

Zyuganov has pledged to "quadruple pensions and state salaries," according to one report, should he get elected.[1]

.... It seems that we have forgotten about Dmitry Medvedev and Putin's decision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.17.167.114 (talk) 02:22, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
