Gary Leroy Brown (born July 1, 1969 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania) is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Houston Oilers in the 8th round of the 1991 NFL Draft. A 5'11", 230-lb. running back from Penn State, Brown played in 8 NFL seasons for 3 different teams from 1991 to 1999.
Brown rushed for over 1,000 yards twice in his career. He did it with the Oilers during the 1993 season with 1,002 yards and with the New York Giants during the 1998 season with 1,063 yards.
After retiring from pro football following the 1999 season, Gary returned to Williamsport and was hired as an assistant coach at Lycoming College. From 2006-2007, he served as offensive coordinator at Susquehanna University. In February 2008, he was named running backs coach at Rutgers University.[1]
