[edit] Help
I don't seem to be able to make the relevant sub-section linking to the List of Full Metal Panic Media work properly. If someone would help me fix this, I'd very much appreciate it. For example, the episode listing of Full Metal PAnic should list to that specific section. my bad linking only links to the top of the article. not so slick. Akatombo 08:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Names of MITHRIL personnel (Officers, employees, etc.)
Think we should put them in the Mithril section too?
- There already is a list of PRT and SRT personnell. Additional characters such as lord Mallory, one of the founders of Mithril, and General Voda (Boda?) among others could be inserted into the Mithril description. The various character discriptions are a mess, being duplicated over the multiple specific series pages. I think a general description relevant to the article at hand should be inserted into the Mithril page (such as Lord Mallory as the founder) but the specific details unrelated should be kept in the character list page, or their individual article. (like their hair color, likes and dislikes, etcetera)Akatombo 08:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Overall editing Worklog
Main Article NEEDS a thorough rewrite and editing. It is a massive kludge which is difficult to read, and contains information which is superfluous, personal opinion, or replicated elsewhere. Akatombo 02:05, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Rewrite finally in progress. The existing synopsis is going to be largely removed. All published novels and their respective information will be added into the overview table (possibly moved to a different section) and the infobox and its terribly outdated information will be deletd. The short story collections, the 3 different manga series, and the anime adaptations will be placed in a similar presentation for cohesion and clarity of presentation.
The trivia section is to be moved to their specific locations. Example is the transliteration errata, which will be merged with the Mithril (full metal panic) article describing the SRT and PRT units directly. The OST tracklistings are also unwieldy within this article, so a related article may be created later. Akatombo 13:10, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Episode listing and CD information has been moved to a related page, List of Full Metal Panic Media and appropriately expanded and organized. The media page will eventually contain more information from the other series, short stories, and manga appearances. The Synopsis is next up to be rewritten, to excise the redundant and needless spoiler content. Stronger linking to the list of full metal panic characters page is needed. Akatombo 23:03, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Ahh. Rewrite has been finished. The format and content has changed significantly, but I think I'm happy with it. now for the editing and fine tuning. You have no idea how annoyed I was with the B rating. Lets see if we improve any. Akatombo 01:27, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- Why were you annoyed with the B-class rating? That's the highest rating you can get without the peer review. If you think it deserves a Good Article assessment or higher (it has to be GA first though) then nominate it for a peer review. You can also try this reassessment thing, though I don't know how much attention it would get that way. I assessed it as B because it was basically the highest that you can go without peer review... but by all means if you think it deserves a GA rating, than nominate it! --Miss Ethereal 14:13, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- The article, as I first mentioned was a kludge of terrible scale. It did not pass my rather low personal standards. Then, its rated B (which as you say, is the highest without peer review) without even satisfying me. Its not even close to GA standards, as few anime related articles are. I was just annoyed that people might think the article in the form it was, could think it had passed some standard of wiki. It was just that poor.
- As far as nominating it goes, it seems a little presumptuous of me to nominate it myself. I'll have someone else do the honors. At the same time, there are major issues preventing its status as GA. this would be the images used within the document, which are definately not public domain. previous image removals only resulted in replacement with other images of dubious source. This is a anime wiki-wide problem, and isn't something I can solve. (or willing to try)

[edit] Proposed new sections
proposing a separate article for Full Metal Panic Publications. Akatombo 13:18, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- In terms of what? A section devoted to the manga and novels? --Miss Ethereal 14:44, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- A separate article has been created to collect episode listings, CD track listings, Novels, Manga, stories uncollected into published volumes. List of Full Metal Panic Media. The episode listing and CD track listings were cluttering, incomplete, and (I think) better placed in its own article. so I have. Akatombo 23:40, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- The media list page is shaping up, with novels, anime and soundtrack information complete. I will be starting on the manga adaptations next, but would like opinions on if I should separate the English and Japanese editions or not. I also need to check on non-US releases and rightholders to complete the listing. Akatombo 20:57, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Why is there no character section? --Shay Guy 09:11, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I think it would be a good idea to create pages for the light novel series, as it would be helpful for people to understand the differences to the TV series and added information etc. This could be done arc wise to make it more simple I guess. 81.132.108.44 20:44, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Questions
- Perhaps the Arm Slave descriptions (please, someone add pictures) and the Lambda Driver article could be combined, like the Cosmic Era technology page for Gundam SEED Destiny. --Ren zealot
- There has been a major revision of the Lambda Driver article done by myself. I have plans to better organize the information.
- A page entitled Black_Technology has been created to collect the fictional technologies featured within Full Metal Panic. Arm Slaves will have a technical discussion within the scope of Black Technology.
- The Lambda Driver article is to remain independent, as it contains a fair amount of information making combining it unwieldy. A short description is currently within the greater Black_Technology article, linking to the more in-depth Lambda_Driver Article.
- The Black Technology page is taking shape, but needs editing and organizaion.

- The Arm Slave Descriptions under "Arm Slaves equipped with the LD" is to be combined with the Arm_Slave article. Possible segregation of individual Arm Slaves.
- the Arm Slave section needs rewriting and additional information.
Akatombo 08:37, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Arm Slave Has been rewritten.
- Individual Arm Slave articles need to be written. More information and better organization needed.
- I'll do my share of it once I have some time. Do we add photos of them? 70.68.46.180 20:06, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- Individual Arm Slave articles need to be written. More information and better organization needed.
- New TDD-1 article. (needs editing and proof reading)
- Wiki linking to and from new articles need to be done.
Akatombo 06:19, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Response teams Article has been rewritten. I believe it should be integrated with a Mithril (organization) article, as much of the potential information will overlap. Akatombo 03:53, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- Response Teams article is now part of Mithril (organization). The old response teams article is to be deleted. Akatombo 01:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Possible copyright violation
Some parts of this article seem to have been copied from the ADV website. Compare: Full Metal Panic!#ARX-7 Arbalest and ARX-7 Arbalest. Unless a permission has been obtained from ADV, the copied text must be removed and restored only if a permission can be obtained from the rightsholder. Aapo Laitinen 16:00, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
- A rewrite is currently in process. The entire Arm Slave Article will be revised and edited to better fit with the new Black Technology and Lambda Driver Articles.
Akatombo 21:34, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- All offending material from the Arm Slave Article has been expunged. I am focusing on the Arm Slave, Black Technology sections of Full Metal Panic, and am not going to check in Characters or the Main Article for the time being.

[edit] Adding various MITHRIL personnel?
Would it be a good idea to add supporting characters from various MITHRIL branches in the FMP world (Manga, anime)? 70.68.46.180 23:35, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- No one's stopping you. Go ahead and add them into the List of Full Metal Panic! characters page. If you feel there is enough information to create an individual page, go ahead and do that too.
Akatombo 09:56, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Sosuke Sagara has been expanded and need proofreading in additon to wiki linking.

- Thanks. I might do that later on, depending on which character to do. 70.68.46.180 23:43, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Massive rewrite of the Kurz Weber article. wondering if the pictures are legal or should be removed.

- Thanks. I did take the photos with the VLC Media Player's snap shot option, so no need to remove it. Keep it. I might do more articles soon. 70.68.46.180 02:20, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- Images from in the show are not in public domain. I'll be removing them, unless there is permission given from the rightholder or licensees (ADV anime). Akatombo 10:28, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] No Resemblance To Real Persons
At the end of each episode there is a disclaimer saying there is no similarity to real persons or groups, like the one at the end of most films. This isn't in most anime, does anyone know why they had/decided to put it in FMP? --Aceizace 17:50, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- lol, yeah true, I noticed that today. A tongue-in-cheek joke perhaps? I'll see if I can find out - and you will know know me by the trail of dead. 08:00, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Some things happened in real life that were similar to the storyline. LuckyBambu (talk) 04:35, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Manga?
Why isn't the manga listed in the infobox or on the media page? I'd edit it, but I was confused as how the manga correlate with each other. Kyaa the Catlord 11:35, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Trivia for episode 14
In episode 14, there are more references to Gundam, particularly to model kits. Can somebody please add this to the Trivia section? Thanks. E Wing 12:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- We could put them in cultural references... Ominae 10:44, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Is it possible for someone more familiar with the series and the episode in question to re-write the cultural references for this episode? The first reference seems longer than warranted and gets a little convoluted as it draws in SRW. There are also two entries in this list for the same episode. Are they both really necessary or could it be rewritten to be more economical? joshua.green (talk) 03:40, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Help!
Need help with the Mistral II article since I lack some information. I based it on http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/BIBA-5801.htm
Also, is it a good idea to create an article on Amalgam (Full Metal Panic!).
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:FMP-DVD.jpg
Image:FMP-DVD.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
