Talk:Freddy Got Fingered
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Europe Freddy Got Fingered didn't receive universal praise, but it didn't get panned either. From memory critics were much less critical than the US press. It may be worth an ardent archive searcher seeking out some world reviews, and if they were less critical than North American reviewers stating clearly that it was universally panned by US critics. A bit anal but it's a big difference.
- Given that the movie only made $78,000 worldwide (in non-US markets)[1], I doubt it made much of a splash. Random guy 18:24, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
During the course of the film, we are introduced to various other subplots that catelogs Gord's daily experiences. These however are largely one-dimensional slap-stick sequences
That is false. The scenes involving the neighbour boy getting hurt could be categorized as slap-stick but apart from that I can't distinguish any slap-stick at all. //Sarnath
I really liked this movie. //Nick
I loved it. As far as I can tell, the film has a coherent plot, pretty good production values and adequate acting.

[edit] hilarious
this just goes to show how much critics realy know. that was a fuckin funny film and i havent met another person who didnt think so. it would have been a hit if it wasnt for those miserable bastards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thelegendofrory (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 April 2006
- . Have you ever considered that you are wrong, and the thousands of people who hate this film are right?
This film IS awful. Only dumb teenagers would find any "entertainment" in this. 86.158.84.70 14:01, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hilarious??? This film presents humour at its worst! I cannot believe how much money was wasted in this crap! --Siva1979Talk to me 17:13, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
neo surrealism indeed. this is a funny movie if you dont take yourself too seriously.
its shock humar is verry funny, i couldnt stop laughing.most critics are old miserable men with small dicks and have nothing to do with their money. if they had a sense of humar they wouldnt of rated it that bad.
what is humar?
I youtubed the movie down and their were pages of clipes from the movie, that just proves it is liked. As a test i tiped highly rated movie Dances With Wolves and I didnt find half as many videos.
I Found It Hillarious. It Was Finally A Break From All The Crappy Un-Funny "Comedy" Rom-Com's. Finally A FUNNY Film! (Id Rather Be Hated For Who I Am, Than Loved For Who I Am Not 22:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC))
I agree completely. Freddy Got Fingered is possibly one of the funniest movies i have ever seen, and i'll have you know that i'm far from being a "Dumb Teenager", I'm merely a guy with a sense of humour and the ability to sit back and acknowledge that not only are the events in the movie so ridiculous and surreal as to be almost incomprehensible, but the humour is also different. I think its easy to see why people can be offended and not find it funny, but for critics to slate it as the worst movie ever made just seems a bit narrowminded. these people obviously havent sat through the brain dead Erin Brockovic.... now that is movie that shouldn't be even mentioned in the same sentance as barrels. [edit] Backwards man
The backwards man section is based on a merge from backwards man. If you feel that it's "pointless", I would certainly understand, but please discuss here, so that others have a chance to comment. For my part, I'd like to see a citation on the claim that it's widely referenced, and perhaps see it shortened a bit. -Harmil 15:05, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- "Despite the film's pitiful showing at the box-office, this scene remains one of the more referred to and popular scenes."
- In my opinion, the "Daddy would you like some sausage" scene is way more popularily associated with and more referenced to the film than the Backwards man scene! Amchow78 18:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest removing the section. "this scene remains one of the more referred to and popular scenes" That is unverifiable (and more importantly unverified). WP:V. I'll do it if nobody objects. ~a (user • talk • contribs) 21:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

This article has had its infobox tag removed by a cleanup using AWB. Any concerns please leave me a message at my talk page. RWardy 19:53, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Films considered the best ever? Or at least cult films?
Why isn't this film categorized as one of the best ever? At least two of the best critics (Ebert, Scott) praised it at release or afterwards (see the article) and it certainly meets a cult movie criteria. So many years after the release box office is no longer important (even if it is: FGF did and does well in video stores) and neither Local Yokel's critic's opinion is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rakunus (talk • contribs) 23:22, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] In popular culture?
I heard they discussed this movie in a TV show. Does anyone know which one? Undeclared maybe? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.212.34.62 (talk) 10:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
