The Free Foundation (Free Foundation, FREE) is a political party faction and think tank within Forza Italia, a centre-right political party in Italy.
Although most of its leading members are former members of the Italian Socialist Party and thus have social-democratic roots, the group represents one of the liberal and libertarian factions in the party. The core proposals of the association are free market, small government, subsidiarity, political and fiscal federalism.
The Presidents of Free Foundation is Renato Brunetta, leading members of the group include Franco Frattini, Giuliano Cazzola and Giorgio Stracquadanio. The group has published and publishes regularly many books in collaboration with Libero and Il Giornale, two leading centre-right newspapers, edited by Vittorio Feltri and Mario Giordano respectively.
