Freddy Alejandro Guarín Vásquez (born June 30, 1986 in Puerto Boyacá) is a Colombian football player for AS Saint-Étienne (ASSE) in the French Ligue 1. Guarín is a versatile player, comfortable in the center or right side of midfield, and has represented Colombia at all youth levels. On 24 May 2006, Freddy made his international debut for Colombia in a pre-World Cup friendly against Ecuador.

A regular player for Colombian side Envigado and for the Colombian U20 national team, in 2005, Guarín was taken on loan by Boca Juniors of Argentina. Freddy spent his first six months in the youth team, and made only two league appearances for the Argentinian club. Upon completion of his loan, Boca Juniors attempted to sign Freddy on a permanent basis, but he instead chose to go on loan at AS Saint-Étienne in August 2006.

Guarín debuted for ASSE scoring twice in a friendly against Espanyol of Spain and slowly fought his way into the ASSE starting lineup as the season closed. Made his League debut on October 14, 2006 against Olympique Lyonnais. And scored his first league goal in a 3-1 victory against Troyes. A month before the close of Ligue 1, ASSE converted their loan into a permanent transfer, signing Guarín to a four year contract.
