[edit] stage name vs. real name

I have never heard Franz Welser-Möst called Franz Möst, on or off stage, and I live minutes away from Severance Hall. Banners, programmes and announcements all use the full name. Can you provide an example of Franz Möst being used? Spamguy 22:07, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

I am sorry that I can only provide german-language sources for this.
[1] roughly translates:
Franz Leopold Maria Möst was born on August 16th 1960 in Linz as the 4th child of his parents DI Marilies Möst and Dr. Franz Möst. Since 1985 Franz Möst has assumed the name of the city of Wels, thus paying his homage to his hometown, into his stage name Franz Welser-Möst.
And [2] adds, that the stage name was a suggestion of his impresario in 1984. -- FordPrefect42, @ 08:40, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
PS: This archived concert program from August 29th 1985 [3] shows, that he used to perform under his real name until 1985. -- FordPrefect42 08:53, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Aha, I see; I was confused and misread your edit. I was under the impression that Franz Möst was his stage name, not W-M. Indeed, you are right und ich habe mich geirrt. Also, I dunno why I posted the question to your talk page instead of discussion...I must've been drugged when I posted. :) Spamguy 18:56, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
That's okay, that way I found it immediately. ;-) Hope it is okay that I copied your post here. -- FordPrefect42 19:26, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Fwmconduct.jpg

Image:Fwmconduct.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Restoring infobox

The reason given was that a dubious paragraph at the classical music wikiproject written by the guy who has single handedly remove infoboxes across conductor articles. But he neglects to note that this page is not within the scope of the classical music wikiproject (it only covers those articles that quote that are not covered by other music related projects). Conductors are all covered by the musicians wikiproject thank you very much. So the guideline doesn't apply. Instead the guideline about infoboxes at the musicians wikiproject does.
