Foundation Cup

The Foundation Cup is a rugby league match in Australia held annually before the commencing NRL season each year. It was introduced in 2007 and is contested between the Sydney Roosters and Wests Tigers to celebrate the foundation of rugby league in Australia, with the Sydney Roosters 1 of only 2 foundation clubs still existing and the Wests Tigers representing foundation clubs the Western Suburbs Magpies and the Balmain Tigers who merged in 2000.
