Welcome to the Feminism Task Force a subproject of WikiProject Gender Studies, which addresses articles related to feminism and maintains the Feminism Portal.

[edit] Scope

The scope of the Feminism Task Force is articles about feminism, articles about the different branches and types of feminism, women's rights, history of women's rights, men's feminism, biographical articles about notable women's rights activists and philosophers, concepts in feminism, history of feminism, and biographical articles about notable feminist activists and philosophers. Our goal is to find, expand, create and identify all the substantive topics in feminism and women's rights and expand the Wikipedia presence of those topics.

  • You don't have to be a feminist to join the task force.
  • If you have knowledge or an interest in the subject, or want to help articles pertaining to feminism, you are welcome to join the task force.
  • The task force welcomes both women and men. An interest, knowledge, or wish to help improve articles within the scope of this task force is all that's required to join.
  • The feminism task force is not sexist, racist, homophobic, and like the rest of wikipedia trolling will not be tolerated. If this happens, the trolling user will be warned as per WP:TALK and WP:EQ and will be removed from the task force's list of participants.

Here are some tasks you can do:


    • Be wiki-ambassadors for the project:
    • Increase the visibility of the Feminism portal
    • Promote collaboration between editors of this portal (and Gender Studies) and other projects
    • Welcome new members to the taskforce (maybe make up a feminism-welcome template)
    • Encourage interested editors to join
    • Tag related articles
    • Identify articles for creation
    • Find references/sources for articles (for creation or otherwise)
    • Identify articles for improvement
    • Review importance and quality of existing articles
    • Maintain and update the feminism portal: Portal:Feminism
    • Make templates and userboxes for the task force
    • Create a Feminism Barnstar (maybe some other fun awards, too)
    • Maintain and update the feminism task force (this page!)
