Fatmir Vata (born September 20, 1971 in Rrëshen, Albania) is an Albanian footballer who currently plays as a midfielder or supporting striker for Arminia Bielefeld. Albanian Footballer of the Year in 2004, he is equally skilled with both feet and an excellent dribbler and passer of the ball, and has established himself as a key player for his club, despite being plagued by knee injuries. He announced his retirement from international football when he was dropped from the Albanian national team in 2005.
