[edit] Speedy deletion of List of Spongebob Squarepants episodes, season six

A tag has been placed on List of Spongebob Squarepants episodes, season six requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --CWY2190TC 05:17, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of The Adventures of Little Carp

A tag has been placed on The Adventures of Little Carp, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

do not replace the hangon tag once it has been removed--that only causes it to be listed for deletion again. Bt be aware that the article isvery likely to be nominated for regular deletion. & you should try to find some reviews of it. DGG (talk) 06:22, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Digimon Rury

A tag has been placed on Digimon Rury requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 15:08, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Nfjkpdzth.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Nfjkpdzth.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Missbeauty.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Missbeauty.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:38, 18 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Soxred93 | talk bot 03:38, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Telefang.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Note that it is YOUR responsibility to accurately list the source and copyright status of any image you upload here. Images with false information may be deleted. Repeated or continued upload of images with false information can result in your being blocked. Please don't let that happen-- upload carefully, and if there is something you don't understand and can't find the answer to, ask.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.-- Infrogmation (talk) 23:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Sheesh, do you expect people to really believe you are the creator and copyright holder of this Pokemon for Gameboy, and are authorized to release it under GFDL? Please read the message above and take it seriously if you expect to keep editing here. Thanks, -- Infrogmation (talk) 15:07, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Short term block

Re: your third upload of Image:Manga1.jpg under false licese after it had already been deleted twice. For continued uploading of copyright violations and false licenses after warnings

You have been blocked from editing for violating Wikipedia policy, by 1 day. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. You may also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or mail unblock-en-l@mail.wikimedia.org. -- Infrogmation (talk) 15:11, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unblock request

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "I am innocent, not evil!!"

Decline reason: "You have been blocked for violations of copyright and placing false licences on images. Until you understand this, unblocking is not going to happen. Sam Korn (smoddy) 18:35, 13 May 2008 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Decline reason: "You were blocked because you violated our Wikipedia:Copyrights policy by falsely claiming to be the creator and owner of images that clearly did not belong to you. In fact, what you're doing is immorally wrong and actually criminal -- it's intellectual property theft. The next time you violate international copyright laws we will have no choice but to ban you indefinitely from Wikipedia because your actions put us at risk of lawsuits. --  Netsnipe  ►  18:38, 13 May 2008 (UTC)"

You were given a short term block of just 24 hours for violation of Wikipedia policy after warning. I suggest using your time out to familiarize yourself with wikipedia procedures. If you already understand why you were blocked and intend not to repeat such violations, I suggest explaining so here might be more fruitful than trying to give commands with malformed multiple unblock requests. Please edit calmly and responsibly. Thanks, -- Infrogmation (talk) 14:57, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Keitai_Denjuu_Telefang_Power_Version.screenshot.GIF)

Thanks for uploading Image:Keitai_Denjuu_Telefang_Power_Version.screenshot.GIF. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 22:12, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jazzboxart.jpg}

Thank you for uploading Image:Jazzboxart.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Additionally, if you continue uploading bad images, you may be blocked from uploading. STBotI (talk) 15:32, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Jazzjackrabbitttl.screenshot.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Jazzjackrabbitttl.screenshot.png.

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 02:38, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Last warning

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive uploads.
The next time you upload a copyrighted image without providing the required source, licensing, and fair use information, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Your previous block was temporary, but continuing this inappropriate behavior may result in a permanent block. Please read Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags before uploading any more images, and follow the rules if you wish to keep the privilege of editing Wikipedia. --Icarus (Hi!) 11:53, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use images

Fair use images may only be used in the articles for which they have valid fair use rationales. Thus, your edits like this and this are inappropriate, and have been reverted. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline before adding images to articles. --Icarus (Hi!) 04:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 55 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for Repeated upload of copyright violations and false licenses despite warnings and previous block. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

[edit] Proposed deletion of Captain Underpants and the Brainy Bamboozle of Black Cheetah Man

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Captain Underpants and the Brainy Bamboozle of Black Cheetah Man, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?Saric (Talk) 14:25, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sockpuppetry case

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Fangusu for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page.

Due to your block, you may be unable to edit this page in your defense if you choose to do so. As such, I will create a section below this one. If you wish to add any information to the evidence page before your block expires, please post it in the section below and I or another user will be sure to copy it over for you. --Icarus (Hi!) 23:54, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Response

I was not doing sockpuppetry, honestly.--User:Fangusu(User_talk:Fangusu) 8:12,5 June 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.183.22.242 (talk)

You have been editing without logging in while this account is blocked. While you may not have realized it, this is considered a violation of Wikipedia policy. Being blocked means that you as a person are not allowed to edit Wikipedia until the block expires, not just that your account can't be used. You are not allowed to edit at all while you are blocked, not even if you aren't signed in. Because it sounds like you just didn't understand that, and not like you were intentionally breaking the rules, I have recommended at the sockpuppet evidence page that as long as you don't edit any more until your block expires, your accidental sockpuppetry should be forgiven and forgotten. So please don't edit any more until your block is over, and please don't break any more rules when you are allowed to edit again. --Icarus (Hi!) 03:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WARNING

Fangusu, I want you to read this very carefully, because this might be the last warning you get before you are banned permanently from Wikipedia. I don't want that to happen, and I don't think you do either, so you have to read this carefully and stop breaking the rules.

  • Stop uploading copyrighted images without following the rules about fair use. This requires that the images be small, irreplaceable, and have a proper rationale for every single article they're used in. Read the info at the links you've been given in earlier warnings to learn all of the rules. If the rules are too confusing, then stop uploading copyrighted images at all.
  • Stop adding copyrighted images to articles they aren't allowed in. There are rules about what articles a copyrighted image can be in. Follow the rules, or you will be blocked again.
  • Stop changing images with no good reason. You may like the pictures of animals better, but for articles about body parts, they are not acceptable in the way you've been using them.
  • Stop changing words with no good reason. You might like the word "people" better than "humans," but "humans" is the right word to use in many contexts.
  • Stop removing content from articles. You might not like the information on humans in the article about biting, but you can't just change it to something that isn't true or remove it altogether.

I really want you to be able to keep editing Wikipedia, but we can't let you do that if you are going to keep abusing that privilege. Please don't blow this. It might be your last chance. --Icarus (Hi!) 03:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Why can't I change words if I want, and why are the pictures of animals not acceptable in articles about body parts?--User:Fangusu(User_talk:Fangusu) 9:29,5 June 2008 (UTC)
The biggest problem with changing things repeatedly as you have is that it violates the consensus that we strive for here on Wikipedia. When multiple different editors revert your attempts to change things, it means that at very least, if you think it's a good edit to make, you should discuss it on the article's talk page. To reach the talk page of any article, just click the "discussion" link at the top of it. That way, there can be a discussion about whether or not it's a good change, instead of just a futile edit war with endless reverts. In regards to the two specific types of changes, here is what I would say if you asked on a talk page. Other editors might have slightly different reasonings, but this is the best way I can explain it.
The problem with changing "human" to "person" is that the two words, while by and large synonymous, have slightly different connotations and are used in different contexts. In most scientific contexts, such as anatomy, and when comparing humans to other animals, "human" is generally used. To use "person" instead makes it look less professional. It would be kind of like using the words "kitty" and "bunny" in articles about cats and rabbits. In other contexts, however, "person" is more typical (such as when there's no chance they'd be talking about an animal, as in laws stipulating that, for example, "no one shall sell alcohol to a person under the age of 21"), so if you aren't sure whether or not it should be changed in a particular article or usage, your best bet is to either leave it alone or ask on the talk page.
The problem with changing the images is that, as we are all humans, the main focus of articles about anatomy is also humans. An animal picture is acceptable when the article is primarily about animals or that kind of animal in particular, or to illustrate a point the article makes about the similarities and differences between animals. The main purpose of images is to help a reader to understand the information in the article better. Making an article look better is a secondary purpose, so using an image that is less informative just because it looks better (in your opinion) doesn't make much sense.
Your current block is temporary, and will expire soon, because the administrators who blocked you thinks that you deserve another chance to start following the rules. So please use this chance to do so. If you don't, then at some point either next time or not too long after, your block will be permanent. --Icarus (Hi!) 00:01, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Captain Underpants and the Brainy Bamboozle of Black Cheetah Man has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. [edit] *Important*

Your account has been blocked from editing for 24 hours. Before you upload any more images, I strongly urge you to take some time to read over WP:IUP and WP:NFC. While I appreciate that your edits have been made in good faith, persistent violations of Wikipedia's image use policy will result in the indefinite blocking of your account. Feel free to ask any questions about image policy here, at my talk page, or at WP:MCQ. Thanks, ˉˉanetode╦╩ 05:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Please either review image policies or stop replacing images until you have done so. Good faith or not, you've had plenty of chances to stop this. – Luna Santin (talk) 07:57, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

In the one case, you uploaded and placed a fair use image where a free one would do the job just as well (see WP:NFCC#1); in the other case, the image used doesn't depict the subject very well. – Luna Santin (talk) 08:04, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

The recent edit you made to Yawn constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thanks. Tombomp (talk) 08:06, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, that wasn't really informative on my part. The problem is you were already told it's not an appropriate image - it's a copyrighted image that replaces a public domain image with more detail. Although I understand you're acting in good faith, if somebody like Luna Santin with a better understanding of the image policies than you reverts something, it probably shouldn't be re-added without discussion. --Tombomp (talk) 08:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sa.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sa.gif.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Do not remove AfD templates

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Captain Underpants and the Brainy Bamboozle of Black Cheetah Man. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. --Icarus (Hi!) 00:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Editing anonymously

You have been warned multiple times for certain types of edits that you have done. Doing them without signing in is still vandalism, and you will still be held accountable for your actions. Using your account to upload images, for instance, and then signing out to add them to articles, is not acceptable. You must stop making edits like these, whether you are logged in or not. If you do not stop, then you will be blocked yet again and eventually, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia at all. You have made some useful edits, so I don't want you to end up permanently blocked, but you will leave us no choice if you do not stop your vandalism. --Icarus (Hi!) 00:49, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Result of Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Fangusu

Thank you for responding appropriately to the issues raised with your inclusion of images in articles. You have admitted making a mistake and commit not to repeat that mistake. I hope you will continue to make good contributions to the encyclopedia. Yechiel (Shalom) 20:20, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Questions

Why is editing anonymously vandalism? What is wrong with the picture of the Doom comic? How come it is not acceptable in that article about comic books? Whenever I edit without logging in, how do you come to know that the anonymous user is me? And for another thing, when am I allowed to use the word, 'people' instead of 'humans'? Why can't I use the word, 'people' in the article about cougars? --(Questions from Fangusu moved here from main userpage)

I've moved these questions here from your main userpage. Your main userpage is for you to put whatever information you want to about yourself and your interests, but discussions and questions that you wish to receive answers to are better left on this, your talk page. Otherwise, people might not see what you had to say because they weren't looking there. If you want to be sure someone sees your questions about editing Wikipedia, you can also ask them at Wikipedia:Help desk.
  1. Editing anonymously is usually allowed, but it's not allowed if your non-anonymous account is blocked when you are doing it. That's because a block means that you, the person, are not allowed to edit, not just that you can't edit with the blocked username. There was one time when you edited anonymously while you were blocked, but you said that you didn't know that it wasn't allowed so no one is going to blame you for that. There was another time when you were not blocked and you edited anonymously, which is allowed, but someone else got confused and thought you were blocked at the time. It was the other person who made a mistake that time, not you. You are allowed to edit anonymously as long as your account is not blocked, it just gets confusing because it's harder to tell who is who when you don't sign in. So it's very helpful to everyone else if you always sign in to edit.
  2. If you read the pages about fair use for copyrighted images, that will explain why the Doom comic picture cannot be used in an article about comic books. But the short explanation is this. Most of the time, we cannot use pictures that are copyrighted. That means that the picture is owned by someone. It isn't just against Wikipedia rules, it's against the law. That's why we have to be so strict about it. Copyrighted pictures can only be used if under two circumstances. One is that the picture's owner says that it's okay to use it freely. The other one is called "fair use," and that's if it is being used to illustrate an article about the same thing as what's in the picture, and even then only if it would be impossible to get a non-copyrighted image instead. A copyrighted picture of a Doom comic can't illustrate an article about comic books, because someone owns the picture, and they have not said that it's okay to use it, and there are non-copyrighted images we can use instead.
  3. I explained earlier on your this page (here) why "people" and "humans" can't always be switched for each other. You can go back and re-read that to see when one is normally used, and when the other is normally used. In most articles you find, whichever is used is probably the right one for that article. If you think it should be changed, you can explain why on the article's talk page (you get to an article's talk page by clicking on the "discussion" link at the top of the article) and if other editors agree with you, they will change it or tell you that it's okay to change it.
