Fairview Mall is a major shopping centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Just under 1 million ft2, it is on the northeast corner of Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue. It is jointly owned by Cadillac Fairview (50% ownership) and Ivanhoe Cambridge (50% ownership). Both owners are two of Canada's largest real estate property managers and developers. The mall is currently undergoing a major renovation.[1]
Notable stores include: the first Canadian H&M, Laura Secord, Baskin-Robbins and Laura.
It is adjacent to the Parkway Forest, Henry Farm, Don Valley Village, and Seneca Hill neighbourhoods. The Peanut is immediately to the north, and Fairview Public Library is located just outside the mall.
Cadillac Fairview also operates Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener, Ontario, often simply called 'Fairview Mall' by locals.

[edit] History
The mall opened in 1972 with the Bay and Simpson's as its department store anchors. It was the fourth fully-enclosed and the first multi-level mall in Metropolitan Toronto. The Hudson's Bay Company, parent company of the Bay, purchased Simpson's in 1978. In 1991, it sold the Simpson's store in Fairview (along with five others that were co-located with the Bay) to Sears Canada.
[edit] Redevelopment
Fairview Mall is currently undergoing an $84 million, three-phase full renovation and redevelopment project, which began in July 2006 and is scheduled for completion in spring 2008. Phase 1 includes a newly expanded Shoppers Drug Mart and a large format Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) store. The food court, a key highlight of the renovation, will be moved to the lower level under a 60-foot high skylight near The Bay. All entrances to the mall will incorporate hands-free technology and the common areas will be transformed with more open spaces and stylish wood finishes. Elevators serving the third floor offices for the first time will be added near the Moxie's entrance, and the front facade along Sheppard Avenue will receive a complete facelift. Phases 2 and 3 will include further enhancements.
The Rainbow Cinema has closed down to make way for a brand new Cineplex. The Rainbow Cinema was originally an older style Cineplex theatre.[1] This theatre will be a Silvercity.
[edit] Public transportation
A portion of the mall's parking lot was redeveloped into a bus terminal as part of Don Mills station, the eastern terminus of the Sheppard subway line and the southern terminus of the Viva Green bus rapid transit line.
Since the closing of nearby Don Mills Centre in June 2006, there has been a free shuttle bus between the two malls on weekdays.
