"In mid-March, Capello reportedly confirmed an interest in the soon to be vacated England postion, making him by far the most successful manager linked with the post."
- This is a dubious statement: Scolari has been linked to the England position and he's won the World Cup. I think this should be tempered down a little. LP
- I disagree. Scolari has, in his career, won the World Cup and three major Brazilian/South American trophies. These trophies are usually bandied about by four or five teams. Capello has won La Liga with Madrid, the Scudetto with Roma (in debt!), Milan and Juventus, the Italian Cup (thrice) and the European cup. More than double, and in more difficult circumstances, most would agree.
-I agree too. Total trophies are 12-6 in Capello's favour, and he's got a bigger reputation.
- Fair enough. I was thinking that the World Cup is the most prestigous trophy in football, and therefore outweighs the number of trophies held by Capello. However I concede that in terms of actual difficulty, Capello's achievments are probably greater. LP

-Since Beckham just scored a goal for Real Madrid against Real Sociedad, I think that's a safe assumption. Say dumb things in a fit of pique, get made to look like a total wanker later on, that's the lesson here. 70.144.1.239 02:49, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
-There's a dubious, poorly written paragraph quoting Capello's interest in taking the vacant Tottenham Hotspur job. I have deleted this as current manager Martin Jol is still manager of the club and the quotation hasn't been cited. DM 90.193.239.88 00:47, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Just to note that in Capellos record winning the two titles with Juve should not be included. As far as officia records are concerned with the two titles, one is void and one was awarded to Inter. All official records now have all Inter players of the 2005/06 season and manager Roberto Mancini as having won that title. Therefore for it to be included on Capellos record is incorrect as far as official records are concerned as it is Roberto Mancini's title. It is not up for argument, at the moment this is recorded on Capello's page and Roberto Mancini's page, how can two managers win the same title for different teams? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.250.31.197 (talk) 13:51, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I mean if I took drugs and won the 100 metres at the olympics, if I was disqualified I wouldn't be credited with winning the race. However you look at it, Juve did not win those titles fairly, and therefore Capello did not win them fairly either. The titles should not be accredited to him therefore. --Simonski (talk) 14:08, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- One more vote for not ascribing titles to those who didn't win them. I just came to edit that part of the article, and then found I couldn't since the page is protected. Nothing more to say on the subject, is there? [edit] England team
I've noticed how the section is beginning to get untidy with a description of every game that has been played whilst he's been england manager being listed in the article. Sure this can be tidied up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.97.61 (talk) 15:10, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
For the moment the description of the three games themselves are brief and informative, and do not cause a problem (but will do once more matches are played). The problems are the excsessive details of the first England sqaud Capello picked which seemed important at the time, but seem irrelevant now. I will cut down this section in the coming days, keeping the most important points. I am also thinking of creating a sub-heading "early friendlies" to cover this period.
