Fabian Frei (born 17th May 1989) is a footballer from Switzerland who currently plays as midfielder in the Swiss Super League for FC Basel.

Frei has came through the ranks at FC Basel and was moved in to the full team ahead of the 2007/08 season after becoming one of the best midfielders in the reserve squad. He played a major part in Basel's title and cup win in the 2007/08 season. In June 2008 it was revealed that various German Bundesliga and Italian Serie 'A' clubs were intrested in signing him.
