[edit] The Band

Since 2001 Exemption has been playing shows in the Long Island area and travelling along the Eastern Seaboard. Combining heavy blues guitar riffs, speedy double bass drumming with heavy fillwork and a sound that has been compared to the likes of Pantera, Clutch and Metallica by M.T. Head Records[1].

With their most recent full-length, self-released album, “The Rabbit Hole (2007),” Exemption has changed their sound from what was a more traditional heavy metal formula to a heavier blues jam style. It has been written, recorded, mixed, designed, and promoted all by the band themselves under Ray Marte's personal studio label called Double Vision Studios [2]. The album was featured in the “New Noise” section of Live-Metal.net[3] and was voted Ultimate-Guitar's[4] best “Unsigned Band of the Month” for February 2008. The album is now available on iTunes and CDBaby.com [5].

Exemption has shared stages with the likes of The Misfits, Byzantine, L.A. Guns, Dry Kill Logic, Slaughter, and Rhino Bucket as well as countless talented, unsigned, and local bands in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina.

The band plans to release an E.P. full of some of their new material, showcasing some of their most well-received songs to date in late winter 2008.

Exemption was recently featured on the talk show "Take It Or Leave It Radio" in November 2007.
