Coast. The introduction of sugar and carbohydrates to the Nisga'a diet has brought on diseases like diabetes. But lately it has also sparked research into their traditional diet. This oily little fish seems to be one healthful dish.


can someone add in the fact that this fish is dwindeling in numbers also; does anyone else know anything about ookichan grease, my grandfather says that it is derived from these fish and we would like to see more information on this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.83.80.112 (talk) 18:41, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
