[edit] Leo Strauss

Leo Strauss is one of the founding fathers of neoconservativism, the teacher of neocon figures such as Paul Wolfowitz, and the guiding light of the rest of them. I haven't read his writings on Plato, so i can't really comment on that, but it seems that he just slightly misunderstood Plato's ideas of myth and its uses, a slight misunderstanding with disastrous consequences . . . But that's just me talking out of my ass, i don't actually know.

I do know that i vehemently agree with his political philosophy and the movement it spawned, at least when it comes to praxis. I'm not a relativist by any means, imo striving for a beautiful society is very important etc, but the implementation and teaching of these ideas is best done through very different means . . .
