Emilia (region of Italy)

Emilia is an Italian historical region which approximately corresponds to modern Emilia-Romagna region's western and north-eastern portion. It is limited by the Po River in the north, by the Apennines to the south, and the River Reno to the east. The region's major cities include (going from east to west) Ferrara, Bologna, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma and Piacenza.
