The NY Times seemed to take the geographical rankings with a grain of salt saying "... keep in mind that the rankings partly reflect the locations of large computer servers ... while Elmhurst, Ill. which has gotten attention for doing a lot of "sex" searches appears to represent some of the Western suburbs of Chicago."
