Poster

Low resolution?

yes

Purpose of use

Poster to illustrate and identify El Frontón prison from SL's perspective

Replaceable?

No, used to identify Shining Path's perspective on the prison, which was destroyed in 1986. Furthermore, Shining Path is now virtually defunct.

Other information It illustrates educational articles about the subject represented by the image. It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value. A free image could not be created to replace it without itself being a derivative work. Also note that Shining Path does not claim property rights on its work, and indeed is against the very idea of rights as well as property. Further note that Shining Path cannot claim damages or property rights in US courts as it's assets are frozen due to its listing on the Office of Foreign Assets Control's list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists, implemented under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Shining Path would also be ineligible to send representatives to the United States or collect money from US companies and organizations such as Wikimedia as it is listed on the U.S. State Department list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
