PrestonH (talk · contribs) Hi, I'm PrestonH and I came here on my 5th editor review seeking for improvement. I believe I have improved from my last RfA because I have tone down the vandal fighting a little (based on my last 500 contributions or so), I requested deletion autograph books, and actually joined a WikiProject recently. No, I don't wish to be an admin but rather an editor who seeks improvement on certain things. I have over 8000+ edits and nearing by 9000th one. PrestonH 23:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Based on your edits, I can see that you have been very active on vandal fighting. Keep up the good work, I can see a very promising user in you. Θ Sean gorter Θtalk 00:44, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
    • Thank you for your review Sean gorter. Still though, I feel like needing another review from an experience editor regarding my edits to see what I need to improve and stuff. PrestonH 04:36, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
My vandal fighting, typo corrections, helping newcomers, and more recently, working on the article called the Nintendo DS Browser.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes, I've been through some major conflicts in Wikipedia since I join here in September 2006. My first major conflict occurred when I got reported in the Administrator's Noticeboard along with my friends in October 2006 for using Wikipedia as a social network site. I solved that conflict by making better quality edits and realizing that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. If I ever get entangled by that problem again, I'll try to get more focused on the encyclopedia part instead of chatting to my friends.
  1. Not much conflicts occurred after the incident, aside from the mass vandal-fighting I did in December 2006 - July 2007, where a lot of vandals attempted to harass me and intimidate me.
  1. The other conflict I got into was teaching my friend how to use Wikipedia (User:CaptainIron555). I made him do this and that, and it caused a lot of fustration toward each other (evident on his talk page). From that conflict, I learned that Wikipedia is not a job, but rather a hobby and an encyclopedia project.
  1. One recent conflict I got into was the AL2TB/Artisol2345 issue. I met AL2TB at the high school hen we take math classes together. He figured out I use Wikipedia and said that Artisol2345 was his cousin. A controversy broke out (evident on his talk page), but tensions soon die down after some editors actually believe his story (still, many don't believe him as of now). I learned from this conflict that introducing a relative of a confirmed abuser to Wikipedia, could lead to controversy and one must take it slowly and gently.
