East Link

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

East-Link is also a road toll bridge in Dublin

The East Link is an eastern extension of the Central Link Light Rail line spanning about 22 miles from Downtown Seattle to the suburb of Redmond, WA, USA. The East Link will compose of three projects/lines:

  • I-90 conversion (adding HOV lanes to mainline to replace express lanes)
  • Downtown Seattle - Overlake Transit Center
  • Overlake Transit Center - Downtown Redmond

[edit] Routing

From the International District Station, trains will travel on ramps to the Interstate 90 express lanes from the transit tunnel. From there, the current express lanes along I-90 will carry light rail trains from Seattle across Lake Washington and Mercer Island to South Bellevue. Trains will then turn and head north along Bellevue Way and 112th St. towards Downtown Bellevue. From there, trains will head east at N.E. 12th St. past Overlake Hospital through the Bel-Red industrial area along N.E. 16th St. In the Overlake neighborhood, trains will connect with State Route 520 and head north towards Downtown Redmond/Redmond Town Center.
