This appears to be a BBC-coined term. I will eventually do something on remotely triggered earthquakes, which is the scientific term. --Zeizmic 15:00, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Made up word

"Earthquake Storm" is totally a made up word. It is not scientific as it is created by a journalist. An unfortunate interview with Jeff King on BBC's Horizon series created this term. He also uses the term "prediction" a lot..

Scientists should be more careful, I suppose..—Preceding unsigned comment added by Fearlessdog (talkcontribs) 09:48, 2 May 2007

According to Google Scholar and the BBC page you linked to, the term was coined by Amos Nur (Stanford Professor of Geophysics) in 2000; see [1]. John Vandenberg 10:08, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Whatever.. This term is created for mediatic purposes only and means nothing. But surely sounds like a sci-fi movie.. Aftershock or foreshock terms should do according to the situation ... I strongly think that no scientist use fancy words like this.. --Fearlessdog 10:39, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
