Talk:E (text editor)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not Notable: This is an annoying tag, in my opinion. One person's kerfluffle is another person's burning interest. Isn't this, at base, an arbitrary value judgment? I think the e editor is notable because it's the only Windows editor that supports TextMate bundles, and TextMate is probably the premier Rails editor (and the most notable OS X text editor by a long shot). So, why is it not notable? --Gtcaz 18:53, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
I commented out this paragraph in the article:
- It's primary motivation is to make collaboration effortless. Instead of the traditional way of making collaborative editors, where everybody edits in the same text at the same time, it works more like a live revision control system. This makes it possible to work asynchronously and in disconnected groups and still easily track who did what and when.
Because a) it's not particularly encyclopedic (i.e. notable, interesting, informative), b) it's extremely vague and doesn't describe how the feature works, and c) it reads like advertizing copy. descriptions like "make collaboration effortless" can go on product leaflets, but don't belong in wikipedia. Also, as far as I can tell, that feature isn't implemented yet.
- Is there any opensource counterparts? 75.15.231.226

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:E editor screenshot.png
Image:E editor screenshot.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
