Image:E66 Petone Workshops 1906.JPG

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

E 66 in February 1906 at Petone Workshops in the Hutt Valley of New Zealand. This is the first photo taken of the locomotive after the completion of its construction, according to E. J. McClare on page 96 of Steam Locomotives of New Zealand, Part Two: 1900-1930 (Wellington: New Zealand Railway and Locomotive Society, 1988).

Photo by Albert Percy Godber (1875-1949). Copyright expired in 1999 in New Zealand as Godber had been deceased for fifty years.

Fair use rationale for any countries where copyright may still apply: unique photograph of E 66 by virtue of being the first. Rare, as only a few photographs of E 66 exist and it was the only locomotive of its type ever built. Cannot be reproduced today, as E 66 was withdrawn from service in 1917 and subsequently dismantled and dumped.
