Hello
Yes, I'd be happy to help you. I'm about to disappear until Monday, as usual. My first tip is that when you post to talk pages, always add your comments at the bottom of the page ;-) You can click the big + tab and it'll do it automatically for you. I'll be back in touch next week. --Dweller (talk) 10:58, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Technical intelligence article
I recovered, but why did you revert a great number of edits, with an inuse tag? If there is a problem, you can certainly leave me a message on my talk page or the article page. Howard C. Berkowitz (talk) 20:31, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Redirections
Can I suggest you don't do page moves until you're a lot more experienced Wikipedian. Thanks. --Dweller (talk) 16:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Useful project
Take a look at WP:AID, make your vote and see if you can help with this week's collaboration. --Dweller (talk) 16:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Van
Most kids haven't heard of him. Gradually, as they get older, they'll become aware of some of his more popular songs without realising who they're by (or that it's the same person) and then they'll become aware of the huge back-catalogue of non charty stuff he's created. Then they might, if they have taste, get hooked. That's the usual pattern anyway. --Dweller (talk) 11:43, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm. Interesting. I think you should start a discussion at one of the two talk pages, with a link posted at the other one. You'll also need to make sure you're well up on the relevant guidelines at WP:DISAMBIG, particularly this bit. Read it carefully! --Dweller (talk) 00:14, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
AWB request
Requests at Wikipedia talk:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage are not normally approved unless a user has well over 500 mainspace edits. Your edit count total is 323 & mainspace only 75. Additionally, I would highly suggest that you turn "on" the edit summary, as the majority of your edits don't appear to have this (click on "my preferences" then the "editing" tab, and then click "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary"). SkierRMH (talk) 21:54, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- You can re-list your request at the Wikipedia talk:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage for re-consideration, putting there your specific need for using this tool. Although it's not a "rule" (i.e. refusal on my part), the AWB team usually follows the 500 mainspace guideline, but they (&/or administrator) can make an exception if they think the case is proven by the User for the need of the tool. A barnstar for you
| The Spoken star | ||
| For your excellent job in producing spoken articles (in particular on winter service vehicle). Laïka 23:35, 24 January 2008 (UTC) |
It's good to see more people producing spoken articles. Your enunciation on the articles is great (although it's a shame there's some popping from the microphone). Keep up the good work! Laïka 23:35, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Addition to my awards page...
Thanks! I only just noticed it! --Dweller (talk) 09:29, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Sweet Thing
Please see my last couple of edits, especially my last one. See if you can find a couple of other appropriate WikiProjects to notify, or other talk pages. --Dweller (talk) 10:35, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:User Dvorak Logo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:User Dvorak Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:57, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: Simpsons spoken article
I've found for normalization, it's best to use it for every take. Normalizing the entire file will amplify the entire file according to the loudest or highest peak. The easiest thing to do is normalize each take seperately instead of everything altogether and you'll get way better results.
I think also in Audacity (I use Audition), there should be an option for Dynamics Processing which is useful for full-waveform normalization. Worth a go at least; try fannying about with the options, normally the presets there get the job done well enough.

Page move
I think you have consensus. I presume you know how to do the page move? Once the current Sweet Thing becomes a redirect, you can get tips on how to make it a disambig page at WP:DISAMBIG --Dweller (talk) 10:57, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:40px-Nuvola apps korn.png
Thanks for uploading Image:40px-Nuvola apps korn.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Undeath (talk) 00:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
