Dustin Byfuglien (March 27, 1985 in Roseau, Minnesota) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays wing for the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks. Originally a defenceman at the start of the 2007–2008 season, he was moved to a forward position to give the team a larger body near the net, an experiment which has proven successful thus far. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, chosen 245th overall in the 8th round.

The defenseman excellend in his third professional season, earining recall on November 3 to the Chicago Blackhawks and never returning to the IceHogs. In eight games with Rockford, the blue liner had seven points. He had a goal in his first shift with the Blackhawks in 07-08 on November 3 against the St. Louis Blues and recorded his first career hat trick against Phoenix on November 30. He finished ties for fifth on the Hawks with 19 goals and 36 points in his thrid season with the team, all while making a transition to forward throughout the campaign. He was the first Rockford player to earn the AHL's Player of the Week award in Week 3 when he scored one goal and five assists in four games.

Scored a goal in his first shift with the Blackhawks at St. Louis on 11/3/07 in Chicago's 3-1 win over the Blues. Recalled to the Chicago Blackhawks on 11/3/07. Named the CCM/Vector AHL Player of the Week for Week 3 of the '07-08 season, notching 1g-5a in four games. Notched a goal and an assist in his IceHogs debut on 10/16/07 at San Antonio in Rockford's 4-2 win. Chipped in two assits on 10/17/07 at Houston in the IceHogs 3-2 win.
