This article ought to explain why the title "Duke of Portsmouth" did not pass to her grandson Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond.--Wetman 23:04, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

It was a life peerage; her grandson would never have inherited her titles. I've added the life peerage note in the lead. PeterSymonds | talk 12:44, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
