[edit] Platte Mound M Pictures
Thank you for adding the pictures of the "M" to the article! I planned on adding a few of my own but am currently unable to upload due to the newness of my account. In the near future I will add a closer shot of the "M" along with the plaque at its base. Thatoneguy89 (talk) 01:58, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I didn't have my good camera with me at the time and its hard to take a decent picture from a moving car. I'm sure your pictures will do it better justice. --Dual Freq (talk) 02:15, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] People from Illinois
I appreciate your effort to keep genuinely notable people on the list, but I don't believe that you or me or any editior should be the arbiter of who is notable or not. Instead, the criterion should be objective, and if the person lacks a wiki article, it is entirely reasonable to expect at least a citation. People without citations, like any other uncited items, should be tagged and removed. If these people are notable, it should be easy for you to respond appropriately to a request for citation. [edit] Image of parents of Michael P. Murphy
Hi Dual Freq,
I am posting because I stumbled across this thread concerning this image (also here) which you uploaded, and its use on Michael P. Murphy. I was hoping that maybe you, as the original uploader, could make the relevant changes of name from "John" to "Daniel", both on the image pages (including of course in the names of the pages) and on Michael P. Murphy itself (to ensure that once you change the name of the image page, the image is still showing). For verifiability purposes, this link should prove conclusively that the father's name is in fact Daniel and not John.
Thanks, Juwe (talk) 20:55, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- I uploaded the image and the source page is here. It is captioned by the US Navy as follows, "John and Maureen Murphy, parents of Lt. Michael P. Murphy, listen to a benediction prayer during a ceremony outside the Michael P. Murphy Post Office." I don't know who is depicted by the images, but the problem lies with the USN's caption. --Dual Freq (talk) 22:05, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- The image has been renamed Image:Parents of Michael Murphy with monument.jpg and I noted the error in the Navy's caption. --Dual Freq (talk) 22:30, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Commons uploads
I find the new interface irritating as well, but the good news is you don't have to fill out most of the new fields - it still just cares about the license while the rest is expendable. Anynobody 06:27, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
