i dunno what i am doing but i uploaded a picture of a tall building and i just dont know how to actually place the picture on its wikipedia page.It is a picture i have taken.thx
This is my first experience trying to post an article to Wikipedia. I would like to post article about polymer clay, specifically a brand I know better, Kato Polyclay. But it seems like my article is regarded as Advertisement for the brand, or it may contain conflict of interest. So I'm a little confused about how to make the article neutral for all readers. There are times when boundaries between advertisement and fact are a bit blur. For example, if I write that this clay brand is considered to be the strongest amongst other brands, would it be regarded as advertisement? But this information can also be regarded as fact or at least opinion from many users that we can find in some websites and books. Thank you for your help. Nadia 18:46, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your help. I'm right now trying to rewrite my article. Nadia 19:17, 9 May 2007 (UTC):
Editing Harry Potter Portal
Dear Andy,
I am currently helping improve the Harry Potter portal. I am not randomly deleting articles. I was archiving the Did you know section it was very messy. So i created this seeing examples of other portals:
If you see the history of the portal, you will see that I am creating proper subpages like featured character, Selected article, Did you know sections for ease of use and as recommended by Wikipedia.
If you see these links below you will know what I am trying to do.
- Portal:Harry_Potter/Featured_Character
- Portal:Harry_Potter/Featured_Character/Archive
- Portal:Harry_Potter/Selected_article
- Portal:Harry_Potter/Selected_article/Archive
In future, I request the recent changes patrollers to look into the history carefully before undeleting. Cheers, Vinwe 11:36, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey.
I noticed that you use Twinkle to place warnings on a user talk page. I never knew that Twinkle could be used for this purpose, how is it done?

Please assist in removing the last two posts by MRPreston and reporting them as vandalism on this page : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dane_Rauschenberg
- I didn't leave MRPreston a note. I just left a message on the page above. What's going on? I'm really confusing. Did I do something wrong? --Oda Mari 18:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)I think now I'm realizing what I've done. Stupid of me. I'm really sorry. Please forgive me. --Oda Mari 18:40, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Question re: One of Your Edits
Editor Oda Marie left me a note that you asked OM to clean up an edit I made to Dane Rauschenberger's bio page. I had added in a note that he was recently a participant in a Breast Cancer charity called "Babes for Boobs" and I provided the web site for the charity, etc. It is completely lgit part of this man's dossier of experiences. Dane references the web site and the charity in his blog, which he links on Wikipedia. He was auctioned as a prominent celebrity bachelor for Babes for Boobs. It is completely on the level, and something he himself mentions. In his BforB bio he mentions his running career and marathoin exploits, which are the basis for his even being mentioned on Wikipedia to begin with. Please tell me why this was edited. I provided a web site which proved the point I mentioned.
Mr. Preston
PS I am completely at a loss as to how to communicate with the Wiki editors so forgive me if I do the wrong thing in putting my question here.
TNS Superpanel page
Hi
You've edited the TNS Superpanel page a number of times so I'm hoping you can help. TNS Superpanel was rebranded TNS Worldpanel in 2004...can you change the name of the page to TNS Worldpanel or will a new page need to be created?
Thanks.
SHA-1
While looking at the category for Wikipedians with committed identities, I realized that you are using a SHA-1 hash. While SHA1 hashes are relatively secure, it is possible for them to be hacked. I advise that you try a SHA-512 hash. A calculator for SHA512 can be found here,[[1]]. While not required, this would further add to the seecurity of your account. Thank you for keeping Wikipedia safe. Remember to use a strong password!! - Hairchrm 02:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, you are probably pretty safe with SHA-1, but when you have the hash posted on your userpage, anyone with enough time and a true desire to do so could easily break it with a bruteforce given the month+ that it will probably just sit here on Wikipedia. With Rainbow tables the time would be decreased to only seconds if it was a short hash. It was reading about rainbow tables that prompted me to tell people this. I found one admin with a SHA-1 hash. If a vandalist who really wanted to got ahold of that, and claimed that someone changed their password, etc., then some real damage could be done. I think most people here would be safe... it is just better safe than sorry... - Hairchrm 02:09, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Bicing speedy deletion
It has been restored in WP:VFU#Bicing (closed). I thought this decision was definitive and that I could remove the template... By the way, I did not create that article. --SMP - talk (en) - talk (ca) 09:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Cornelia Grumman
I noticed you added a speedy deletion tag to the article on Cornelia Grumman. Since she one a Pulitzer Prize, I was wondering why she isn't notable enough for inclusion. LaszloWalrus 01:50, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

What was really necessary for the Garfield Gets Real box art that I uploaded?
Does the image require a source? The image is the cover art of the game that's owned by DSI and PAWS, Inc.
What does the image really require that the other thousand box art images in Wikipedia don't seem to?
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who owns each image, considering that the LOGO of the company is on the box art. Hero of legend 01:24, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- I added the necessary template to Image:Garfield Gets Real.PNG, I hope this makes the image allowed. Hero of legend 01:37, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Blocked/banned
Hey, I see you replied on that newbie's talk page. Please note that "blocked" and "banned" are two entirely different things on Wikipedia. May have been just a slip-up, but still... :-) Melsaran 11:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
WP:CVU status
The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Image copyright problem, Ulmus
Seems to be a Wiki software problem. I correctly completed the copyright section (own work, released to public domain) for both 'Ulmus' uploads. The page seized up after that, so I don't know what's going on, but no way my fault. Ptelea 09:21, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

help
Thanks bro...
Actually problem is this, that there is an article by the name Rashidun, which was actually made for the four caliphs who ruled the Islamic empire after the death of pro[hat Mohammad from 632-661 A.D, some one have moved this article to Rashidun Caliphate.... which actually in islamic history refers to the era 632-661 in which the islamic empire was ruled by these 4 caliphs.... now i am wrorking [2] on this, its the article of the Rashidun Caliphate ( rashidun empire ).
Now the problem is that the article of Rashiduns (rightly guided caliphs) is also named as "Rashidun Caliphate".... so what can i do now ???? because the article that i wrote is actually of "Rashidun Caliphate". can the article Rashidun be moved only to "Rashidun" and can its name "Rashidun Caliphate" be removed ????? Mohammad Adil 17:58, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- and whats the process of doing so ??? i mean how can i remove the redirect link to Rashidun Caliphate ???

Help Request
When I go to My Contributions and click on the Eastern Municipal Water District like that I created, it brings up a "Hireworth" page that I did not create. When I click the diff link, I find my page, but when I try to edit it and save the page, it goes back to that Hireworth page. What's going on? Emwd.len.hughes 18:27, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Help Me - Protected Templates
{{helpme}} Is there an administrator out there who can (a) answer my questions and (b) act upon my questions? Please advise. Thanks. See this page: Template:Age … it has a "high-risk template protection" banner at the top. See this page: Template:Age in years and days … it does not have a "high-risk template protection" banner at the top. Why is that? Is there some valid distinction between these two pages / templates, such that one carries the banner and one does not? If so, what is the distinction? If not, can an administrator either (a) remove the banner from the first template; or (b) add the banner to the second template (whichever is more appropriate)? Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro 20:07, 21 August 2007 (UTC))
- Both templates are protcted from editing due to high levels of vandalism on them, the reason one has a banner and one doesn't is just down to each administrators preferences, some use them, some don't. I will raise it with an admin to see if one can be added to the second template. Andyreply 20:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why the second template doesn't have it. I've put up a request for an administrator to add the protection template. In the future, you can do this by adding {{editprotected}} to the protected page's talk page and explaining what needs to be done. Happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 20:11, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Most likely, the second doesn't have it because while {{age}} is on over 20,000 pages (I stopped counting), {{age in years and days}} is on less than 500 -- it's just not considered "high-use" in order to apply at Wikipedia:High-risk templates. — Lomn 20:13, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, I see where I missed the point -- both are protected and only one has the banner. Yeah, no deep conspiracy behind that or anything. Given that the template is being tweaked after being protected, is not widely used, and has not been the target of vandalism, I'm not sure why it ought to be protected at present. — Lomn 20:18, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks to your help, this issue has been resolved. Much appreciated -- thank you. (Joseph A. Spadaro 00:27, 24 August 2007 (UTC))
Article Deletion
I have tried to add an entry several times and it keeps being deleted. This last time, although I added third party references to the subject and media/press releases, it was deleted within minutes. I followed the examples of similar companies in Wikipedia that have not been deleted, and have noticed several others without the verifiable content that seem to be fine. I guess I want to know what I am missing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Strategies Marketing Global (talk • contribs) 00:47, August 24, 2007 (UTC).

Admin?
Hi there, I'm impressed with your work, would you like to become an admin? Tim Vickers 17:01, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- The policies aren't difficult, just have a careful read through of the top three WP:V, WP:NPOV and WP:NOR. You don't have to have written them to understand and use the things! Work on policy is not a requirement for adminship, only that you have a good general grasp of the important points. Tim Vickers 18:40, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Anyway, when you feel that you would be OK with applying please drop me a note. I would be very happy to nominate you. Tim Vickers 18:52, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
DROPMe - speedy deletion by Iridiscent and request for assistance
Dear Drunkenmonkey,
My first attempt at an article submission was speedy deletd by Iridiscent. Useful comments and he has offerd to recreat the draft in 'my space' so I can rework it. I notice that you have tagged the comments. Are you willing to review or help.
The difficulty is I do not know how to retrieve the article, nor find 'my space'. I have no wish to waste peope's time nior raise the ire of Iridiscent.

Explanation?
Could you please explain why you tagged COLLEGE OF NURSING,TRIVANDRUM,KERALA,INDIA as nonsense? It's many things (including an inappropriate name), but I'd encourage {{sofixit}} in this case - it's not nonsense, unless I'm missing something major. Unless I hear back otherwise, I'm declining this speedy. - Philippe | Talk 03:27, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
