Talk:Doquz Khatun

[edit] Name question
What source are we using, to say that Doquz was also known as Oroqina? Hulagu had multiple wives, is there perhaps some confusion from this? --Elonka 05:36, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- None of my books on the Mongols mentions an “Oroqina.” The Encyclopaedia of Islam, the Encyclopaedia Iranica, JSTOR, and Google Books return nothing. Perhaps it is misspelled. Perhaps someone familiar with Mongolian can identify the form. Until this is resolved, it would be best to remove it from the article. Aramgar (talk) 17:24, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

- The text in the link above seems to refer to Organa Hatum (and also gives a possible hint of where a confusion with Doquz Qatun could stem from). Strange how one link says they were Muslims, and the other that they were Christians, though. Yaan (talk) 15:40, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
