[edit] Unsourced Information

I've received a complaint from Representative Manzullo's office in reference to the inclusion of unsourced information about Abramoff contributions. I've removed the statements in question. Unless you can cite a clear, reliable source, please do not add any controversial or debateable information. Thanks. Alphachimp 03:02, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Another Image

I don't think this article is long enough to need another picture now, but if it does in the future, I have just uploaded Image:Manzullo signs cast.jpg, which is currently employed in the orthopedic cast article. Dar-Ape 20:22, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Putting Abramoff information back

"I've received a complaint from Representative Manzullo's office in reference to the inclusion of unsourced information about Abramoff contributions."

The complaint itself is unsubstantiated without direct quotes. I do not see any evidence Manzullo did not receive money from Abramoff and/or interested party(ies).

The information Manzullo received contributions was, in fact, sourced by the article from the Northwest Herald. Multiple news sources reported the Abramoff contributions, and a spokesperson for Representative Manzullo has been quoted directly as acknowledging the contributions, as well as claiming that the contributions will be returned. The information in the article is not biased, nor unsubstantiated, the newspaper website merely stopped holding the original article as linked, therefore the link was dead. I could still quote the article, and I will, it's just on newsprint rather than on the web. I've replaced the information and provided multiple new sources.

The majority of the information that you added qualifies as original research. I have removed it per WP:BLP and reasonability concerns. The purpose of this article is not to list every single transaction Rep Manzullo has ever engaged in. A simple reference in the 2006 section to the Abramoff affair is enough. His entire status as a political figure is not defined by $3500 that he is purported to have received and returned from Abramoff.
As for the complaint from Rep. Manzullo's office. Wikipedia takes BLP complaints extremely seriously. We are not required to disclose any private correspondence (and I choose not to disclose the correspondence). Alphachimp 18:21, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
