A dominion was a self-governing colony or autonomous state within the British Empire, a concept eventually replaced by Commonwealth Realm. Particularly:
- The Dominion of Newfoundland, the former name of Newfoundland and Labrador prior to it becoming a Canadian province in 1949.
- The Dominion of New Zealand, a disused name for the Realm of New Zealand. Other former dominions include Australia, Canada, Ireland, and South Africa. In a similar sense, it can also refer to the Dominions of Sweden, the Swedish empire.
