[edit] Speedy deletion of Jonathan Virant

A tag has been placed on Jonathan Virant, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Bfigura (talk) 22:36, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] November 2007

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Jigsaw Killer, you will be blocked from editing. --CyberGhostface 21:25, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Actually, you had received due notice that continued inappropriate edits could result in a block before that. Accordingly:

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

C.Fred (talk) 03:47, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "This is unjustified. I actually tried to add to the Jigsaw article and everytime I did, one of you so-called administrators deleted my additions, which by the way, the part I was adding to had a request for expansion. The people currently adding or deleting from Jigsaw's page have no idea what they are saying. Furthermore, I have viewed C.Fred's and CyberGhostFace's pages. No wonder Wikipedia has a reputation that is in the mud. With people like them, why would you need legitimacy. I wonder, who oversees their pages? Because they do not do a good job. Perhaps, I could? CyberGhostFace seems to have little or no understanding of the Halloween Remake, Randall Flagg or the Jigsaw. A shame. Additionally, you people have violated my Procedural Due Process Rights under the United States Constitution, 14th Amendment. Do I even get a hearing? I wonder, has someone vadalized that page too?"

Decline reason: "I believe that you were attempting to improve the articles. However, the edits you made did not improve the articles, because they didn't fit with the more formal and neutral tone of an encyclopedia article, and lacked references. Your choice to ignore warnings made blocking the only way to get you to stop. Edits like this one, of course, are unacceptable. You do indeed have due process, under the 14th amendment, which means that if you are arrested for a crime, you have a right to a fair trial. I don't see any way that this piece of information has anything to do with a private web site's decision to block you from further edits. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:49, 5 November 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

The Wikimedia Foundation is a private entity, and hence the restrictions the 14th Amendment (or for the matter any part of the United States Constitution) do not apply here. Your argument is moot. —Kurykh 06:58, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Jonathan Virant

A tag has been placed on Jonathan Virant requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
