The Lion King - partially inspired by Hamlet by William Shakespeare, the Bible stories of Joseph and Moses, and the Disney animated film Bambi; often speculated to be greatly inspired by Osamu Tezuka's classic anime, Kimba the White Lion, due to numerous similarities between the two animations.
The Nightmare Before Christmas - original idea by Tim Burton, pun on the title of the poem Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire - partly inspired by the legendary Atlantis, while some believe it to be based on the anime show Nadia: the Secret of the Water.
Brother Bear - primarily inspired by Native American and Inuit legends and myths.
