Discovery Channel Australia is part of a six channel network on cable and satellite television in Australia. This network includes three locally programmed channels and three foreign programmed channels.

[edit] Discovery Channel
The Australian version of the Discovery Channel is operated by XYZnetworks[3], who also own the exclusive distribution rights for the channel.[1] It was launched in July 1995, replacing the Quest documetary channel launched in April 1995 by XYZ.[4] Since the renaming of Travel & Adventure to Travel & Living, much of the travel genre programming (including first run series) has been removed from the Channel.
