Diego López Rodríguez (born November 3, 1981 in Paradela, Galicia) is a player with the Spanish football club Villarreal, who plays as a goalkeeper. He is a graduate of Real Madrid's youth system and was the second-choice keeper at the club for the 2005-07 seasons behind Spanish international Iker Casillas.
In July 2007 he joined Villarreal for a fee of 4 million pounds.
After a string of fine performances in Spanish Cup matches, as well as big matches vs. Real Madrid and Valencia in La Liga, he has been awarded first-team action. By March 2008, Diego had established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Villarreal.
