About Amy Lowell - Amy Lowell didn't become a poet until she was years into her adulthood; then, when she died early, her poetry (and life) were nearly forgotten -- until gender studies as a discipline began to look at women like Lowell as illustrative of an earlier lesbianism. She lived her later years in a "Boston marriage" and wrote erotic love poems addressed to a woman.
T. S. Eliot called her the "demon saleswoman of poetry." Of herself, she said, "God made me a businesswoman and I made myself a poet."
Amy Lowell was born to wealth and prominence. Her paternal grandfather, John Amory Lowell, developed the cotton industry of Massachusetts with her maternal grandfather, Abbott Lawrence. The towns of Lowell and Lawrence, Massachusetts, are named for the families. John Amory Lowell's cousin was the poet James Russell Lowell. Writings and poetry [1]
About Percival Lowell - The chief goal of the observatory was to study the solar system and espescially Mars. Lowell's theory stated that the Martians were trying to keep their planet alive via a worldwide canal network which channeled water from the Martian polar caps to the rest of the planet.

About James Russel Lowell - James Russell Lowell (1819-1891) is one of the group of authors sometimes called the Fireside Poets or the Schoolroom Poets, a group which also included Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, John Greenleaf Whittier, and Oliver Wendell Holmes. Because of their conservative approach to verse and the often blatant morality in their poetry, the very qualities that made them popular in their day, they have been out of favor throughout much of the twentieth century. Nevertheless members of the group like Lowell and Whittier, both ardent abolitionists, may not have seemed so conservative in the nineteenth century.

Jane Roberts - There are many that say it was the Seth material that sparked the birth of the New Age. This, we can not say for sure, but we do know that Seth touched many with the knowledge he brought to us. And all those he touched reached out and touched others. Most noted New Age authors, teachers, channelers, etc, attribute the beginning of their journey to Seth. Hence, Seth's offspring keep growing.

Elwood Babbitt - There could not be a more down-to-earth person than Elwood Babbitt. Through the years, he has become a good friend and a mentor, and it is because of his simplicity and outgoing personality that I returned, year after year, to receive a little more of that Dr. Fisher wisdom, that he so generously channels for all of us to use and share with others. Elwood is now [as of 1999] living in Cabot, Vermont. He hasn't changed since the first time I met him. He still has his boyish look, and now in his late seventies, he gives readings and lectures all over the country.
